Don started playing bass guitar in a real garage band at age 14 and picked up the acoustic guitar shortly after. He played in rock bands and a jazz quartet through high school.  Don studied music composition at the University of Montana for one year, then moved to New Delhi, India where he studied sitar.  He returned to college to study science and medicine. When money ran out, he hit the bars—with his guitar, working several nights a week to fund his education.  Music continued to be a private and public passion while he built his career as a doctor of natural medicine. The fire was rekindled in 2011 when he attended the Crown of the Continent Guitar Festival and Workshop in Bigfork, Montana.  Don now plays regularly at venues near his home in Bigfork.
