Our 2021 BIGFORK VILLAGE MARKET BANDS

The Bigfork Village Market is the place to be on Monday nights in the Flathead!

Hardwood Heart

Hardwood Heart was born out of compulsion – a desire for guitarist Josh Clinger and mandolin player Jed Nussbaum to keep as musically active and exploratory as possible. What started as two songwriters swapping tunes in backyards and living rooms turned into an impressive catalog of original material and covers, woven together with creative improvisation and vocal harmonies. Together the pair (along with upright bassist Troy Morgan whenever the 4-string slinger is available) forged a sound rooted in bluegrass but stretching into jazz, folk, blues and rock and roll.

PERFORMANCE DATES: June 7, 2021 & September 27, 2001

mike murray

Montana Singer/Songwriter, Mike Murray, released his 4th studio album, Difficult Days, on March 2nd.  He has played over 500 shows and has placed first at the Northwest Artist Syndicate’s Singer/Songwriter showdown.  He has toured both locally and internationally, and you can immediately tell that he is passionate about what he does.  His stage presence draws in the audience as he loses himself in deep solos on top of a driving beat.

BUCKS FROG POND

Led by singer/songwriter Chris Evans and Ross Bridgeman, this lively band joins together from all parts of Montana. This group’s first album release is coming out in summer of 2021 and their shows will be featuring originals from this album as well as some of their old favorites!

PERFORMANCE DATES: June 28 & September 13, 2021

Second Wind

Celtic music with warmth and passion. The duo of Jason Foy and Barbara Calm have backgrounds in Celtic traditions and to these roots they remain true most of the time! They find joy in experimental approaches to traditional tunes and continually find new inspiration from some great contemporary bands from Ireland and the British Isles. They love the creative freedom of playing as a duo; being portable, adaptive, and able to evolve with the wind in unusual and delightful directions.

Bo Depeña

Somewhere between the concrete jungle of New York City and the dirt road expanse of the West, resides the “American Roots” music of Bo DePeña. With a blended sound of blues, country, folk, and hints of rock ‘n roll, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, harmonica) has traveled the country as a lone wolf troubadour. Through collected trinkets of musical influences, Bo’s music taps into many vantage points of the American story, and does so gracefully

ROCKY MOUNTAIN TIME

Rocky Mountain Time will transport you from an Appalachian barn dance, deep down into the blues, to a Texas bar with Townes van Zant, then around a campfire with John Prine. We’re a newly formed Flathead band with over 100 years of performance history among us. For decades Bill Rossiter toted his banjo and guitar across North America in everything from jug bands to rocking jam bands. Fiddler Marion Boatwight hails from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, learning his old time licks from the last ‘pure’ generation of fiddle legends. Carol Dietrich brings welcome class and calm to the ruckus with her guitar and soulful singing.
